Queensland Safe Work and Return to Work Awards 2016
Powertech (Present Group) was nominated as a finalist in the category of Best Solution to an Identified Electrical Safety Issue. The award ceremony, held last 18th of October at the Royal International Convention Centre, was organised by the Office of Industrial Relations.
Powertech was a finalist due to the excellent online in-house training package available for all our employees. This training includes theoretical and practical training for specialised HV activities. With a largely mobile workforce, employees are able to access the online theory from any mobile device connected to the internet. Once the theory has been completed, the technicians can then schedule with the assessor a time to complete the practical assessment. The technicians receive a competency certificate which is also sent to the companies training team.
Stated by Managing Director Paul Carmignani “Powertech (Present Group) is committed to providing a healthy and safe work environment that promotes and protects the physical, mental and social wellbeing of employees. As a company, we recognise that the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and stakeholders are of prime importance and essential if we are to collectively embrace and embody our core values”.
“Our ability to prevent injury and illness to people, damage to the environment, and detriment to the community is an important measure of our effectiveness. Success in this endeavour is dependent upon the active involvement of everyone working within Present Group”.
Regional Senior Manager, Steve Edwardes, expressed “It was a privilege to be nominated and receive a commendation award. We were up against some great companies all of which have excellent solutions to electrical safety issues available for their employees.”
